Book Review- RL Stine- Goosebumps

Goosebumps is popular among children and young teens. Most boys and girls might remember the good time they had while reading Goosebumps when they were young. I was crazy about Goosebumps in my young age and I still love to read it.

Goosebumps is basically a horror series that contains 62 books. I am not talking about Goosebumps 2000, Gold and other versions. This review does not discuss those.

Now, my review.
Goosebumps is one of the most fabulous series every created. Goosebumps is a part of every child's memory. It is filled with some really scary twist endings and some of the most original, inventive ideas in the universe of horror fiction. In fact, I would easily say it is the best horror series every written. Individual books in this series are also among the best books published.

Most books in this series are stand alones but some have sequels like Say Cheese and Die and Night of the Living Dummy and The Haunted Mask. Goosebumps is a series of horror novellas famous for its atmosphere, unique ideas and twist endings.
Even though I have read so many horror novels, I have to admit nothing can compare to Goosebumps.

Goosebumps characters are pretty average people. This amplifies the fear because the characters are easy to relate to and you feel you could easily fit into that scene.

Ratings

Story- 4.8 (very good and unique plots)
Writing style- 4.5 (easy to understand)
Characters- 4 (Most are average but that adds to the horror)
Overall- 4.7

Some books in this series are mediocre and not especially good like Beast From the East, Legend of the Lost Legend etc. However, most books like Say Cheese and Die, Phantom of the Auditorium, Cuckoo clock of doom, Attack of the mutant etc. are extremely good.

The best thing about this series is that it is really scary. It is not hype or false claims like Stephen King's novels. Goosebumps truly deserves its fame and much more. If you're looking for the best horror series or books in the market, do not hesitate, Goosebumps is the book you've been looking for.

R.L. Stine has been called the Stephen King of Children's fiction. However, R.L. Stine is God while Stephen King is nothing compared to him. His books are not scary and memorable. Stephen King should follow R.L. Stine's footsteps and create better books.
Anyway, this series is fabulous and if you're aged 9-14, this book is ideal for you. Older audience can enjoy Goosebumps too but kids tend to enjoy it more.
This is a series you'll remember always and with fondness.
